Breast Feeding

At Nurture Development & Lactation, we believe breastfeeding should feel supported—not stressful. Whether you’re working on latch, flange fit, weight gain, or transitioning from the NICU, we help you reach your goals with confidence.

Using a whole-body, dual-lens OT + IBCLC approach, we look beyond the latch to assess and support your baby’s:

• Latch and oral function

• Positioning and alignment at breast

• Muscle strength and endurance

• Activity tolerance and energy during feeding

• Regulation and developmental readiness

• Comfort and body symmetry

This comprehensive approach ensures that both you and your baby feel comfortable, supported, and connected throughout the feeding journey. 🤍

Bottle Feeding

Many families choose to bottle-feed or combination-feed. Bottle-feeding doesn’t always come easy, and some babies need extra guidance to thrive. Your baby may benefit from therapy if you notice your baby:

• Falling asleep mid-feed

• Coughing, choking, or gagging

• Struggling with reflux

• Taking a long time to finish a bottle

• Having trouble gaining weight

At Nurture, we provide specialized bottle-feeding therapy, including guidance on:

• Choosing the right bottle and nipple for your baby

• Recognizing and responding to your baby’s feeding cues

• Supporting safe, efficient, and comfortable feeding & swallowing.

Our individualized approach helps babies build strength and skills, making every bottle a calmer, more successful experience for both you and your little one. 🤍

Lip & Tongue Tie Assessment

& Oral Motor Therapy

Assessing for lip and tongue ties involves much more than simply looking under the tongue. We are specially trained in tethered oral tissues and use a whole-body, developmental approach to evaluate and support your baby’s feeding.

Our comprehensive protocol focuses on:

• Optimizing feeding at breast and bottle

• Supporting oral strength and mobility through body-based therapy

• Providing pre- and post-frenectomy education and therapy

This approach helps determine whether your baby’s feeding challenges are truly related to tethered oral tissues and ensures that if a release is needed, you and your baby are fully prepared. By engaging in pre-work, we promote optimal release, healing, and post-procedure oral function.

Correcting anatomy alone isn’t enough—evidence-based neuromuscular re-education is key to helping your baby feed effectively, safely, and comfortably. This is where we shine! 🤍
